  • Science Instructor, Girls* on Water, Inspiring Girls* Expeditions

    • Taught science and art while camping and moving through and the backcountry by kayaks in Tutka Bay, AK for high school girls. Developed and taught lessons about coastal oceanography, geology, weather, and art. Mentored students to build sense of belonging and identity in outdoor and science spaces.

  • Teaching Assistant, Oregon State University

    • Introduction to Field Oceanography : Taught 20 students methods to collect data and samples at sea, conduct preliminary analysis and integrate the scientific knowledge; helped plan the multi-day research cruise onboard a large research vessel that students participated

    • Exploring the Deep: Geography of the World’s Oceans : Taught 3 labs with 30 non-science majors; covered marine geology, chemistry, ocean currents, coastal and physical processes

    • Introductory to Oceanography (for science majors) : Taught 3 labs with 30 varying science majors; Covered plate tectonics and ocean basin geology, seawater physical and chemical properties, ocean and atmosphere circulation, marine sediments, benthic and pelagic ecosystems
